Biography:
Angel Ortiz, known as LA II or LA2, is a pioneering New York graffiti artist whose rhythmic, looping linework helped define the visual language of early 1980s street art. Emerging from the Lower East Side, he gained recognition through his close collaboration with Keith Haring, infusing Haring’s bold figures with his own spontaneous, calligraphic energy. Ortiz’s work stands out for its hypnotic repetition and improvisational flow, bridging raw graffiti instinct with a refined sense of movement and pattern.
