LITERATURE:
M. Le Pelley Fonteny, Léon Augustin Lhermitte, 1844-1925: Catalogue Raisonné, Paris, 1991, p. 227, no. 368, illustrated.
In 1897 Lhermitte also painted an oil of this subject, which he later exhibited at the Exposition Universelle of 1900 in Paris.

Slight overall discoloration and surface soiling; pinholes along edges; slight rubbing, most notably in signature; framed under glass. Framed Dimensions 27.75 X 33 Inches
