Description
WulfeniteRed Cloud Mine, Silver District, Trigo Mts, La Paz Co., Arizona, USA
"Mostly a single well formed sharp shiny red wulfenite crystal growing out of a vug in a limonitic matrix. X Robert Bartsch specimen. Bob collected the specimen in April of 1967. I got the specimen when Bob died and he left me his collection in his living trust. The scale under the specimen is an inch with a rule at one cm."
- Rock H. Currier
Bob Bartsch was a hell of a field collector, but few knew of his many successful digs, chiefly because Bob was all about the digging and never felt all that much of a need to display or brag about his finds. He dug this in 1967! If add you up the years since, it dawns on you that this came out over half a century ago. After he extracted it, Bob had to stabilize/repair this specimen and that repair has held to this day. Most all of his collecting was solo: another reason you never heard about his exploits unless you could get him talking. Some of us did. RIP Bob.
