This work is included in Art For Good, a dedicated session within the auction where a portion of the proceeds from each sale supports a worthy charity. One Hundred percent (100%) of the net proceeds from this piece will go to CITYarts, an organization that involves youth in collaboration with professional artists to create public art, such as murals and mosaics.
Christo, famous for his monumental environmental works with his late wife Jeanne-Claude, created some of the world's most recognizable public art installations, such as The Gates in Central Park and Wrapped Reichstag in Berlin. After Jeanne-Claude's passing, Christo continued to realize their unfinished projects, including the London Mastaba. His preparatory drawings and models have been exhibited in major museums, and his works continue to command high prices at auction.
