A Socorro Black-On-White Storage Jar
c. 1100 - 1250 AD

From the Estate of Liz Claiborne and Arthur Ortenberg

Purchased at Sotheby's American Indian Art, December 1993 for $8,050.

Diameter: 11 ½ inches

Condition Report*: In overall very good condition. No breaks, cracks, or chips. The exterior surface with approx. six areas of loss, ranging from ¼" to 2 ½" in diameter. Otherwise surface with dings and abrasions, some affecting the painted design. One small area of clay loss visible on the interior. Masking tape affixed to the bottom. No apparent restoration.
