In 1945 Elvgren accepted an exclusive contract from Brown & Bigelow, and painted calendar pin-ups for them for nearly thirty years. He also worked in advertising, with clients such as Schlitz Beer, General Electric, Serta Perfect Sleep, and General Tire. This painting is reproduced on page 164 of
Gil Elvgren
by Charles G. Martignette and Louis K. Meisel.
There is a small area of paint flaking out of the surface at the lower right.
