    The Intimate Gallery label affixed to the reverse of the frame bears the following inscription: Hoosac Mountain Country -1918 / by John Marin / Marin's date is wrong. Alfred Stieglitz / May 2, 1927.

    Condition Report*: The paper appears to have been affixed to another sheet with an unfinished watercolor study (reverse), which has been scribbled out with pencil, and includes indistinct inscriptions.  This work was previously mounted and is now unmounted and framed under acrylic. The work appears to be toned with some fading to the pigments, and has tiny pinholes at the corners. Framed Dimensions 15.75 X 19 Inches
