KAPLAN is an artist, filmmaker, curator and writer. Kaplan was a 2012 Creative Capital Finalist for the Film + Visual Arts Grant. She recently curated and produced a feature length film program at the World Financial Center called Telegrams on the Table: An Interrupted Allegory related to Fellini's La Dolce Vita. Kaplan also wrote, directed and produced a live radio play called PRESS HOLD TO TALK at Andrea Meislin Gallery. Her live cinema performance, Public Notice was featured at the BMW Guggenheim Lab in NY in 2011. Kaplan appeared in the HBO documentary by Alan Berliner, First Cousin Once Removed, about the poet Edwin Honig, that debuted last month at the New York Film Festival. Kaplan holds an MFA from the School of Visual Arts and is the winner of the Bogliasco Foundation Special Visual Arts Fellowship in Italy.







ROME ART PROGRAM 2nd ANNUAL BENEFIT ART AUCTION
The 2nd Annual Rome Art Program Auction seeks to showcase the creative journey of program alumni, drawing and painting from perception and observation in Rome, Italy each summer, where 'The Studio is the Street'. The auction also includes many artworks donated by distinguished artists from the USA, the UK, Japan, and Australia. Through the 2012 auction and benefit, we are building support for future scholarships and ALL proceeds from the auction will go towards student scholarships in Rome.

We ask patrons to bid generously to ensure that deserving students get to embark on this unique and invaluable path towards artistic development and achievement of their goals. About The Rome Art Program: The Rome Art Program takes its inspiration from the plein-air tradition that has drawn artists to the streets of Rome for centuries. The program includes an International faculty of distinguished artists, art historians, and visiting artist, a rigorous curriculum with daily drawing/painting sessions, weekly group critiques, and art history seminars on-site. The program also offers exciting field trips to Pompeii and Florence led by an art historian, with additional visits to Arezzo, Siena, and Venice.
