Two Igbo Male Tutelary or Guardian Figures (alusi)
Nigeria, First half of the 20th century

Both large, with expressive faces. Each standing with arms held out, palms up. Each with still vibrant yellow, white, and black pigments. One wearing a bowler hat. The taller figure (wearing the hat) in good condition; the other with large cracks and extensive erosion especially on all of his limbs.
