An Ancient Dogon Figure
Mali, c. 1400-1600 AD

Fragmentary figure, missing legs, columnar torso with arms bent and hands to hips, suggestion of female breasts, the head still showing facial features, large lips and ears. A headdress with a shallow concavity at top. Mounted to a base.

Provenance:
David Serra, Barcelona, Spain. His inventory sticker on underside of base.

Height: 13 ½ inches, including base
