An Aboriginal Spear Thrower
Australia, c. 19th to 20th century

Brown hardwood with a glossy surface in a paddle shape, one side grooved all over with large "L" shapes. The back with incised zigzags and a small square with diagonal grooves. Remains of black resin on the handle. In fair condition, large chips on sides and tip.
