A Tiv Standing Male, ilhambe

Heavy hardwood with the legs, chest, arms, and head heavily eroded from exposure to the elements. The neck and abdomen, not so eroded but are smoothed from handling or polishing. Ilhambe figures represent benevolent ancestral spirts and are set up individually or in a group as guardians in front of a family compound. In fair condition, arms missing, heavy erosion in areas. With a metal stand.
