Ethel Edwards, the wife of Xavier Gonzalez, acquired an interest and fascination with oriental art. She created collages using traditional ink, colored rice paper, and other colored papers. Her art was said to blend painting and sculpture. With its use of the traditional Japanese art form of Origami, this painting is certainly a tribute by Xavier Gonzalez to his wife.
