As seen in the later work of other Regionalist painters, Ward Lockwood's 1950's paintings exhibit the use of broad flat planes of color. While quite abstract, this painting still exhibits figural elements of a regional nature. The broad outlines of two Kachina dolls can be made out in this composition.

Two small punctures, otherwise in excellent condition with no inpainting and original unlined canvas. Period frame is in good condition.
