Harco Schutter immigrated to the United States from the Netherlands in 1879. After settling in San Antonio in 1915, he taught at the San Antonio Academy of Art and later in his own art school called Schutter's Art Academy.

Painted the year World War I ended, the Lone Star Flag proudly ripples in the wind.
