    A RUSSIAN SILVER AND SANDSTONE MATCH HOLDER
    Carl Faberge, work master Julius Aleksandrovich Rappoport, St. Petersburg, Russia, 1908-1917
    Marks: (a, right facing kokoshnik, 84), KFABERGE (in Cyrillic), Imperial warrant, I.P.
    4-7/8 x 2-3/4 x 2-1/4 inches (12.4 x 7.0 x 5.7 cm)
    15.8 gross ounces

    The globular sandstone match holder with stepped silver banded reeded rim with pendant silver gilt banded laurel swags, with gilt interior, supported by a cast silver circus elephant standing on it's head. Stamped to interior and ear of elephant.
