    Sotheby's, New York, October 23, 2006, lot 292.

The covered chocolate pot with turned removable finial in an inverted pyriform with swan-neck spout pierced to inside with sixteen inverted hearts, handle sockets support C-shaped wood handle with scalloped overlay surmounted by a turned finial supporting a chain that attaches to the rim of the stepped lid, inscribed to base That it may not be forgotten that this belonged to Symon Patrick, sometime Bishop of Ely. his Great-Great-Great Granddaughter Emily Fosbery caused these words to be engraved A.D. 1868, engraved to lower handle socket ED with mullets. Additional earlier marks to the bottom, that likely date to the Commonwealth, suggest that the base-plate was cut from an older marked piece of silver.

Condition Report*: dent half way between spout and handle, desnts to step of lid, missing hinged spout cover.
