From a Midwest Estate
The baluster-form ewer with segmented figural S-scroll handle, hinged lid having cast dragon finial, elongated spout over female mask to unadorned neck, ribbed bands to body divide fields of strap-work framing medallions, scrolling foliage, fruit and animals, raised on a stepped foot with bands of decoration.
The ewer having scratches and nicks commensurate with age and particuarly to bands circumventing the body, repoussé in quite good condition showing little wear, overall a lovely piece which presents well.
