11-5/8 inches high (29.5 cm)
248.28 troy ounces
The pair in campana form with scrollwork interspersed with shells adorning opening and rims of removable collars, collars engraved with lion rampant and armor-clad arm vested with wheat sheaf, gadrooned banding to upper rim to bodies, central engraved heraldic crest, below to frieze with interlocking and repeating palmette design, handles with acanthus ornamentation and lions' heads to mounts, lower bowls and rounded bases with conforming gadrooned banding, raised on short circular plinths.
The Latin inscription to the base translates to Rundell Bridge and Rundell Goldsmiths to the King and Britain's Prince of Wales. This marking indicates this was an important commission, manufactured during Storr's partnership with Philip Rundell, John Bridge, Edmund Waller Rundell, and William Theed.
Note: bodies, collars, and liners are all marked; each underside is marked with a different inventory number: 879; 18.
Some polish residue to valleys, interiors of bodies with strong gilding remaining, minor warping to interior flanges, light warping to foot of liners, interior of collar and liners with some light pitting, some pushing to both collars, very minor push to rim of collar to one, presenting very well with light surface scratching inherent with age, polishing, and use.
