    A pair of silver amphora shaped vases with spiral chased decoration cascading to base, cast applied band of anthemion decoration to flared neck, gadrooned band at lip and one transitioning to rounded stepped base, scrolled handles rising from scroll work and terminating in rosette.

    A pair of the identical design is in the collection of The Museum of the City of New York and illustrated in: D. Waters, Elegant Plate: Three Centuries of Precious Metals in New York City, Volume II, 2000, pp. 572-573, cat. 396.

    Fine scratches to surface. "30/85" scratched on bottom with additional scratches. Three dents to one side just below the shoulder.
