Benjamin Kurtz was a Baltimore, Maryland native who founded the Missionary Institute, which subsequently became Susquehanna University, and served as the Superintendent from 1858-1865. These goblets were awarded upon his retirement from the Lutheran Book Company in Baltimore, where Kurtz served as Superintendent between 1840-1851.
Scattered pin denting to one, with surface scratches commensurate with age, polishing, and use.
