PROPERTY FROM A PRIVATE SOUTHERN COLLECTION
The narrow, hand hammered coffee pot with ribbed lid and body, repoussé acanthus decoration, elegant S-scroll spout and handle and raised on a domed, spreading foot with conforming motif, monogrammed JC to underside. Retailed by Spaulding & Co., Chicago, Illinois.
According to the Gorham Archives, production of coffee pot 9995 began on July 23rd, 1898 and required 50 hours to produce, plus an additional 45 hours of chasing. The final price was $112.00.
Slight dent to the end of the spout, otherwise with surface scratches indicative of age, use and polishing,
