    An Eighty-One Piece H. Meyen & Co. German Silver Flatware Service in Fitted Canteen, Berlin, Germany, post-1886
    Marks: (crescent), (crown), 800, (left-facing female bust)
    13-3/4 inches (34.9 cm)
    91.78 troy ounces (weighable)

    The lot comprising:
    11 dinner knives;
    12 luncheon knives;
    11 dinner forks;
    12 luncheon forks;
    12 partial gilt dessert spoons;
    3 cream spoons;
    11 serving spoons;
    1 punch ladle;
    4 salt cellars with glass liners;
    4 salt shovels.

    Condition Report*: Each monogrammed to terminal, errant nicking and scratching, errant fleabiting to glass salt inserts, one glass salt insert with flake and small fissure to rim, minor pit spotting to interiors of salts, dirt accretions to canteen, canteen in fair to poor condition to exterior, knife blades may be later vintage replacements and exhibit little wear, with wear commensurate with age, polishing, and use.
