The silver bowl of the spoon formed around an octagonal fifty dollar gold slug coin, the handle with acanthus leaves and a shell at the tip, 'San Francisco' in raised letters to the front of the handle and a crest at the top, an engraved commemoration on the reverse of the handle M.M.K.
