AN EDWARDIAN OVERSIZED SILVER TANKARD

The cylindrical tankard raised on three cast lion feet with raised paws on balls, domed lid with cast lion holding an asymmetrical shield between it's paws, C-shape handle with cast mask and pendant beading on chased ground, the body and rim of lid with chased and repoussé floral, scroll and wave decoration centering large reserve engraved with the arms possibly those of Watlington of Reading with motto MENS CONSCIA RECTI; gilt interior.
