Commander of his Majesties Ship Preston for his great Care in Convoying their Ships to and from Turkey ANNO MDCCLIX The salver having cast swirling scroll and foliate border, interior ground with scrolled and floral chasework to outer margins, interior engraved with armorial crest surrounded by presentation inscription: The Gift of the Right Worshipfull LEVANT COMPANY, To John Evans Esq. Commander of his Majesties Ship Preston for his great Care in Convoying their Ships to and from Turkey ANNO MDCCLIX, raised on four ball-and-claw feet.


Condition Report*: Scratching and pin dents to salver surface, polish remnants to valleys, rubbing, evidence of resoldering/repair to one foot, light warping, some detachment of tray surface and border seams, some old solder repairs evident to border, otherwise with surface scratches commensurate with age, polishing, and use.
