The tea service comprising a hot water kettle on stand, two tea pots, covered sugar, cream pitcher, waste bowl and tray, the globular bodies with chased repoussé grape vine decoration in high relief, domed lids with figural finial depicting a miner with pick axe, naturalistic vine spout, handle and base, monogrammed cartouche to each, kettle inscribed To Enoch W. McGinnes from Gentleman interested in Schuy Hill Coal Basin, as a testimonial of their high appreciation of the intelligence and energy that surmounting all obstacles whether of prejudice or of theory have established the fact of the accessibility for practical working of the white ash coal measures throughout the entire basin, together with a silver plated two-handled footed tray en suite measuring 32-1/2 x 21"
