    A HENRY WILKINSON & CO. VICTORIAN SILVER AND GLASS EPERGNE
    Henry Wilkinson & Co., Sheffield, England, circa 1846-1847
    Marks: (lion passant), (C-crowned), (duty mark), H W & CO.
    20 inches high (50.8 cm)
    85.6 ounces

    The five-basket epergne with segmented baluster-form standard, the top with open-work arches fitted with metal and glass liner and stylized foliate rim supporting a cut glass bowl, the standard issuing four scrolling acanthus leaf arms each with pierced foliate cups supporting cut glass bowls, the standard continuing with foliate decoration to the shaped foot with strap-work and stylized leaves; inscribed to foot PRESENTED TO EDWARD HUMBLE ESQRE, late AGENT to Sir George Sitwell Bar of RENISHAW HALL by the Eckington and Killamarsh (effaced) as a Testimonial of their esteem for his kindness manifested towards them during a period of 28 years. March 1847.

    Condition Report*: Presents well with silver epergne in very good condition.  Glass bowls with some chips, one small bowl with crack to either side with chip.  A glass restorer can mend this small bowl.
