The hand-hammered vase on lobed base with scalloped rim, each "foot" as the flower head of a thistle alternating with the plants spiky leaf rising to flower-form body continuing the thistle motif terminating in an undulating roll-over rim to gilt interior.

According to the Gorham Archives, production of vase 108 began on April 27, 1898 and required 38 hours to produce, plus an additional 70 hours of chasing. The final price was $160.00.
