The Gorham archives indicates production of sugar bowl JCX began May 24, 1905 and required 27 hours of production by William L. Hughes Jr. and 49 hours of chasing at a cost of $80; production of creamer JCY began May 24, 1905 and required 24 hours of production by William L. Hughes Jr. and 48 hours of chasing at a cost of $76.
The Gorham archives indicates production of coffee pot 2245 began October 7, 1899 and required 42 hours of production and 75 hours of chasing by George A.F. Shakel at a cost of $140. The archives also notes that the coffee pot was originally manufactured as part of a three-piece set, with JCX and JCY as companion pieces. It is unclear why there was a 4-1/2 year lapse in production of the set in total.
Note: The Gorham archives notes that the sugar bowl and creamer were probably gilded to the interiors at the time of their manufacture. The tray appears to be a married but matching piece.
