The four-part serving dish comprising silver lid and dish, silver-plated lower dish and base, domed lid with scrolled foliate-form handle, below to engraved and armorial crest surmounted by coronet for Francis Egerton, the 1st Earl of Ellesmere, FRANGAS NON FLECTES motto to crest standard, below to gadrooned banding, lower silver dish of conforming design, below to silver plated dish with gadrooned border, raised on silver-plated base with reticulated dart border, foliate mounts to handles, and large acanthus leaf mounts above extended paw feet.


Condition Report*: Underside to one foot missing small coaster causing dish to sit almost flush on even surface, two light pin dents to lower silver dish, very light plate wear to lower half, scattered nicking, otherwise with surface scratches commensurate with age, polishing, and use.
