Juliet Pierpont Morgan, New York;
Miss Margaret Phair, New York and Canada, gift from the above;
By descent to the present owner.
The flatware service with bright cut border, monogrammed JPM to terminal, comprised of:
6 place spoons;
6 dinner forks;
6 salad forks;
6 soup spoons;
6 tea spoons;
4 butter knives;
6 salt spoons;
1 gravy ladle.

NOTE: Juliet Pierpont Morgan, sister of JP Morgan, the financier, gifted these silver pieces to her nurse and companion Miss Margaret Phair, of New York and Canada. All of the pieces are monogrammed with the initials JPM. It is unclear where or when Mrs. Morgan acquired them, but they have been in the Phair family for at least five decades.
