    AN AMERICAN SILVER FIVE PIECE MARTELE TEA SERVICE
    Mark of Gorham, Providence, Rhode Island, c.1905

    The service comprises a coffee pot, tea pot, creamer, covered sugar and waste bowl, organic form with chased foliage, flowers and flowing lines, the pots with hinged lids, ivory insulators and blossom finials, hammer marks evident throughout, each engraved with script "WCN" monogram, the underside of the coffee pot engraved "Willis Cecil Nield June 29, 1910". Production records indicate two hundred and forty-two hours making time and two hundred and six hours chasing time. The records also indicate the maker was either Lars or Peter Monsen, and the chaser was William E. Jordan. Marks include the trademark Martele eagle, .9584 standard, H/WY production code, marked under bases
