    AN AMERICAN SILVER AND SILVER GILT THREE HANDLED LOVING CUP

    11-1/2 inches high (29.2 cm)
    80.39 troy ounces

    The Martelé loving cup with three S-form handles rising from lobed undulating base with chased repoussé foliate design rising to neck of shaped vase with scalloped rim, applied monogram to front, silver gilt interior.

    According to the Gorham archive this loving cup was made by John M. Sorum using 81.15 troy ounces of silver and taking 110 hours to form plus an additional 94.5 hours of chasing. Completed on May 12, 1920, the factory net price for the loving cup was $615.
