Inscription: AWARDED TO / PORTLAND CAMP NO. 107 / W.O.W. / BEST DRILLED FRATERNAL TEAM / FRATERNAL DAY / ASTORIA CENTENNIAL / SEPTEMBER 2ND, 1911

The partial gilt silver two-handle trophy of urn form, with everted rim and angular handles, the body engraved with presentation inscription, raised on a stepped circular foot.

The inscription records this trophy as awarded to Portland Camp No. 107 of the Woodmen of the World for the "Best Drilled Fraternal Team" at the Astoria Centennial on September 2, 1911. Founded in 1890, the Woodmen of the World was a prominent fraternal benefit society whose local camps combined social, ceremonial, and quasi-military drill activities. Its award at the Astoria Centennial-a major regional celebration marking 100 years since John Jacob Astor's Pacific Fur Company-reflects the important role such organizations played in public pageantry and civic identity in the early 20th century.

Condition Report*: The trophy showing minor pushes to the lip rim concentrated near one handle, the handles with diagonal pushes to the uppermost areas, small pinholes to the undersides consistent with manufacture, various pin dents and a diagonal dent to the shoulder partially obscured by the inscription, and otherwise presenting well with a rich interior finish.
