Exhibition History:

The reticulated silver cake plate, monogrammed DWB to center well.
While this piece is marked by Caldwell & Co. of Philadelphia, PA. it is known to have been made by
the Roger Williams Co. in Providence, RI. and is marked with its pattern number 637S.
I like this piece because the open-work is so elaborate and masterful. It took extreme skill to be able to cut a die from solid steel that could pierce silver so perfectly. A beautiful thing. CV
Property from the Collection of Dr. Charles L. Venable
