    Storr produced this covered serving dish in 1804, when Robert Grosvenor served as the 2nd Earl Grosvenor. The engraved arms are those of Robert, 2nd Earl of Grosvenor and incorporate the impaled arms of his wife, Eleanor Egerton, the daughter of Thomas Egerton, Earl Wilton. The Grosvenor arms are on the dexter (left side) and the Egerton arms are on the sinister (right side). He was appointed Marquess of Westminster in 1831.

    The covered serving dish having rounded rectangular lid surmounted by detailed crown-on-pillow finial raised on ovoid step with beaded trim, chased coat-of-arms to both obverse and reverse of lid, depicting crowned shield depicting bundled wheat sheaf and rampants, central shield flanked by two dogs, below to scrolled standard engraved NOBILITATIS VIRTUS NON STEMMA CHARACTER, Latin for "Virtue, not pedigree, is the mark of nobility," fluted border below, tray with conforming fluting to rim, engraved crown and dog to obverse and reverse.

    Condition Report*: Matching control numbers to lid, tray and finial parts, light nicking, scuffing to undersides, shallow dent to ovoid layer near beaded trim, some scratching to interior tray, with surface scratches commensurate with age, polishing and use.
