    The lobed baluster form candlesticks with undulating base, hand hammered finish finely cased with flowering clematis vine motif, removeable bobeche.

    Per Larry Pristo's Martelé: Gorham's Nouveau Art Silver (2002): Two pairs of candlesticks (including present lot), required William Hughes, Jr. sixty-five hours to produce, with a subsequent sixty hours of chasing. The candlesticks were completed by 10 November 1919, and cost $620 per pair to produce.
