The service comprising a hot water kettle and stand with burner, coffee pot, teapot with tea strainer and caddy, open sugar, creamer and waste bowl with inverted pyriform contour to hammered vessels, pronounced gadrooning to bodies and lids, lidded vessels surmounted by ebony finials raised on fluted everted standard, stylized leaves surrounding finial standard, rounded lid bodies with gadrooning, vessel rims with beaded trim, handles with scrolled tripartite mount at shoulder and chevron ribbon mounts, rounded bases with gadrooning and fine beadwork to perimeter, hot water kettle and stand with similar form having ebony handle, pins on chains to mount kettle in stationary position, raised on legs with chevron ribbons to shoulders, burner with beading and gadrooning below, on circular ebony platform, terminating on gadrooned feet with ebony caps, each vessel engraved to underside Julia Elizabeth Buhl, April 22, 1926.
Condition Report*:
Loose ebony finial to coffee pot, flake to ebony handle to burner, push to shoulder of coffee pot, slight wobble to coffee pot, slight bending and nicking to water kettle cover, rubbing and water staining to ebony fittings, otherwise in good condition with light scratches indicative of age, polishing and use, presents well.
