    The two-handle urn-form trophy with club emblem to one side and inscription to reverse side.

    The Glee Club of New York, founded in 1894, was composed of men who sang in glee clubs while at university. Beginning in 1914, the year before this trophy was presented, the first intercollegiate competition was held. Three annual competitions followed, ending when the United States entered World War I in 1917.
