    Note: Because this lot contains African elephant ivory, this lot can only be sold within the United States.

    The service consisting of coffee pot, teapot, covered sugar, covered creamer and wastebowl, lidded vessels having cupid figures among oversized botanical motifs, gadrooned lids with swirled repoussé foliage, conforming chased decoration to necks, branch-form handles with leaf mounts, branch-form decoration to spouts, except creamer exhibiting figurehead spout, lower bodies with repoussé floral and foliage motifs, raised on circular bases, cartouches monogrammed Z.

    Note: The set was most likely retailed by R. & W. Wilson, as the pieces exhibit a variety of effaced letters. The grouping of the letters allude that this set may have originally been retailed by J. E. Caldwell from Philadelphia. Similar examples to the present form have been known to be made by Grosjean and Woodward, Peter Krider, and Jones Ball and Poor.

    Condition Report*: Pin denting and some light waviness to coffee pot, handle to tea pot loose, cracking to ivory insulators, light nicking to rims, some scratching to interiors, with surface scratches commensurate with age, polishing, and use. These are very strong examples, presenting well.
