This beautiful lilac-enameled from bears a presentation inscription in German: M.G. ihrer lieben D.M.G. [M.G. from your beloved D.M.G.]. The exceptionally well-painted enamel sepia grisaille miniature depicts a young soldier in the uniform of one of the Baltic regiments, possibly that of the 6th Libau or 7th Reval Infantry. A very similar frame, with inventory number 8631 was in the American trade, and advertised in the 1980s.
