This case, with its beautiful crowned cypher in gold recalls a technique used by Fabergé in several other cases, in which varicolored metals are inlaid seamlessly - including a silver inlaid gold case with a crescent moon made for Charles Luzarche d'Azay in 1914 (illus. Tillander-Godenhielm/Schaffer, Golden Years, p. 85).
