This parasol handle, with its exceptional exhibition of channel-set diamonds flush within a carved nephrite base show a technique which was a particular specialty of the Faberge workrooms. A nephrite parasol handle with channel set diamond bow by Wigström from the collection of Duchess Sophia Charlotte of Oldenburg was sold Sotheby's Geneva, May10-12, 1988, lot 131. Another, robustly carved nephrite handle from the Michael Perkhin workrooms is in the Lillian Thomas Pratt collection of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts (No. 47.20.178).
