    Seymchan Meteorite Slice
    Pallasite, PMG
    Magadanskaya oblast', Russia (62° 54'N, 152° 26'E)
    Found: June 1967

This incredible slice of the Seymchan Pallasite Meteorite is covered with crystals of Olivine (Peridot) of golden-yellow color. The Seymchan Meteorite was part of a Meteor Shower, which occurred over the Magadan District of Siberia in Russia and was found in 1967. A mere 20% of the Meteorites in the fall were reclassified as Pallasites with the crystalline Olivine (Peridot). This is a large and very striking slice of a rare Pallasite. The piece is over 8 inches (20.32 cm) tall and weighs 401 grams. The specimen has a fabulous duality and looks impressive from both sides. The mere existence of such a slice that exhibits gemmy crystals within the metallic framework of a coarse, octahedrite Meteorite is more than enough to make this something very unique and valuable. This is a large Pallasite that is full of gemmy crystals.
    Overall Measurements: 8.07 x 6.42 x 0.15 inches (20.50 x 16.30 x 0.38 cm), weighs 401 gm (14.14 oz.)
