Frishmuth preferred Desha, a Yugoslavian born dancer, for her flexibility and strength to hold difficult poses for extended periods of time. This particular sculpture captures the motion of the dancer on her toes with one leg and both arms extended. Desha, unlike other sculptures, was never cast in a large format. The above is an edition of 18 cast by Roman Bronze Works.
