Appeal to the Great Spirit is one of four works in Dallin's The Epic of the Indian series. The work won the Gold Medal in 1909 at the Pan American International Exposition in San Francisco, California. A life-size example of this work was installed at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston in 1912.


Condition Report*: The left reign is unattached to horses chin; there appears to be rubbing and scratches to patina, most notably along left leg of Native American; light surface grime along edge of base.
