Colin Christian's didn't begin his artistic career in a studio. He began making latex clothing for fetish stores with his wife, Sas. There, Christian became a master at creating seductive, unsettling human forms like Snack Cakes, Pink in Blue. In this sculpture, the former latex craftsman fits a human face (the "pink") snugly into a blue hood (the "blue"). The eyes are too big for the face while the mouth is too small. She bears her yellow teeth and licks her lips, staring so intently that you have to look away.
