    Isaac Mizrahi
Born and raised in Brooklyn, Isaac Mizrahi is an icon, celebrity, performer and designer of women's and men's wear. He has embarked on numerous adventures in art, business and public life, with fashion lines ranging from high end to mass market. Mizrahi is the subject of the documentary film Unzipped and has starred in his own TV show. He worked alongside fashion heroes like Calvin Klein, and helped the retail chain Target bring the concept of high design into everyday households. In 2008, he became creative director of Liz Claiborne, Inc.

"Who knew that salmon skin could be so resilient? I always think of salmon skin as something you peel off your food but in fact, it is a beautiful substance," Mizrahi says.

Design for a Living World asks us to think about the products we use-where they come from, how they are made and the impacts they have on our planet.

The Nature Conservancy invited ten designers to create new OBJECTS from sustainable MATERIALS sourced from the world. Wood, plants, wool and other organic materials were transformed into intriguing objects, revealing extraordinary stories about regeneration and the human connection to the Earth's lands and waters. Together, designers and consumers can reshape our material economy and help to advance a global conservation ethics by choosing sustainable materials that support, rather than deplete, endangered PLACES.
