Jersey Vein, 9th Level, Bunker Hill Mine, Shoshone Co., Idaho, USA
From the mid-1980s finds here, this is an excellent example of Pyromorphite for its amazing coloration, luster, and aesthetic form. This piece features bursts and clusters of elongated, 2 mm to 1 cm, yellow-green crystals laying atop a rind of orange-yellow Arsenian Pyromorphite that is especially evident in the front of the piece. The crystals display that highly lustrous 'wet-look' from this find and for the locality. There is only one area at the top where some of the smaller crystals are compromised. This is an important American classic, in exceptional size and quality. Many collectors still consider these to be among the world's finest examples of the species. This fine example has a long pedigree and originally is out of the collections of Dr. Raul and Helen Madrid and Dr. Marcus Johnston. The specimen is accompanied by a base.
